LITTLE ROCK, ARK. (August 30, 2013) – Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, Arkansas’ largest airport, is expecting more than 25 thousand passengers this Labor Day Holiday Weekend. During a five day stretch, which began Thursday, August 29th and ending on Labor Day, 25,198 passengers are expected to pass through the airport.
Friday, August 30th is projected to be the busiest day with 6,900 passengers. Compared to this period last year, local air travel is down four percent. 26,280 passengers used the airport during the 2012 Labor Day Holiday Weekend.
Clinton National recently completed a $67 million construction initiative that included a modernized and expanded ticket lobby with curbside check-in now available for passengers traveling on Southwest Airlines. In addition, a high-tech baggage screening system is also in place that allows passengers to check luggage directly at an airline ticket counter.
Air carriers recommend passengers arrive at the airport 90 minutes
before their scheduled departure.
